What do eLearning professionals want in their courses? Obviously its meaningful content and long lasting impact on learners. It can take your learning plan from ordinary to extraordinary. So here are some points to consider to improve your eLearning courses.

1. Presentation of information:

Do not just dump information on pages. People will not be able to engage with the course that way. Break down the content, organize it into steps, avoid long and complex sentences, or even using too long videos. Make it presentable and remarkable so that people get attracted to them and grasp content easily.

2. Make it learner-centric:

Design your course with keeping learner in mind. Ask yourself a question: will a learner get from the course what he is actually trying to find out?

3. Make easy navigation:

Navigation is definitely a critical element of eLearning. Clear and easy navigation enables self-directed learning, allows learners to explore and read just the content they need. Difficult navigation creates frustration.

4. Use relevant content:

Offering high quality and meaningful content will keep learners fully engaged and motivated to learn, it will add value to the eLearning course. So, always ensure that you offer information that will help learners to improve their knowledge base and learn or improve upon a desired skill set.

5. Integrate quizzes or assessments at the end of each module or lesson:

Include quiz and tests at the end of each module to assess the effectiveness of the eLearning course. It offer learners the opportunity to measure their progress and summarize the content they have learned. Make the quiz interactive, such as including real-life problems that learners must solve by using their newly acquired skills. Include tests that feature video and/or audio questions.

Keep these tips for engaging eLearning courses in mind and help your audience become true agents of learning, rather than  just passive recipients.
