We have written few blogs in recent past about ‘Importance of Learning’. I hope you have seen those if not then please visit our blog @ https://jzeroblog.com/.

We just want to convey message that how important learning is in this fast moving world! Interestingly I came across few people who are telling that we don’t have time for learning in our busy schedule. You know Bill Gates reads 50 books per year. Mark Zuckerberg reads at least one book every two weeks. That sounds crazy! Isn’t it? I am sure we are not that busy like these people! We are wasting our time not investing it!

Successful people of all kinds are lifelong learners. They constantly push their knowledge and abilities so that they can be competitive and creative leaders. After all, taking time to improve yourself is the wisest investment you can make!

While reading a few blogs on learning, I came across a very interesting topic which helps people to learn in their busy schedule and that is ‘Franklin’s Five- hour rule’!

Throughout Franklin’s life, he consistently invested an hour a day in learning which consisted of:

  • Waking up early to read and write
  • Setting personal-growth goals and tracking the results
  • Creating a club for “like-minded aspiring artisans and tradesmen who hoped to improve themselves while they improved their community”
  • Turning his ideas into experiments
  • Having morning and evening reflection questions

AAEAAQAAAAAAAAV6AAAAJGUyN2RiMTUzLWM4ZGQtNDMyZC05YmFhLTU2NzgxZDVmNjliYwEvery time Franklin took time out of his busy day to follow his five-hour rule and spend at least an hour learning, he accomplished less on that day. However, in the long run, it was arguably the best investment of his time he could have made.

It says, we just have to spend one hour daily and it becomes five hour a week which sounds easy, isn’t it? The problem is currently we measure our professional day by how much we done and as a result we speed through the day and slow down our improvement rate.

Focus more on learning than productivity because learning is the ultimate form of productivity! And this five hour rule will help you to achieve this. Which suggest start your day by reading or writing some ideas, set some goals, experiment those and check the result and by doing this you will continuously learn.

Every event is an opportunity to improve. By focusing on learning as a lifestyle, we get so much more done over the long term. Giving the five-hour rule a chance could be just the boost your career needs

So, are you ready to embrace the five-hour rule?
